We currently have a vacancy for a Materials / QA Engineer to work on a highway project in Afghanistan. You will be responsible for overseeing the quality control and assurance of the materials activities on the road project during the construction supervision stage.

Your key responsibilities will include:
Advising the Resident Engineer on compliance of material specifications and testing,
Ensure quality of mix, materials and works meet the specifications
Monitor pavement investigations and recommendations for approval
Coordinate and supervise the testing by field teams
Inspect materials laboratories for approval and testing
Monitoring tests in field for acceptance based on Contract requirements
Supervising quality control throughout the construction period
Approval of source of materials

To be successful you must have the following qualifications and related experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum 12 years’ experience on major road projects especially in material testing
Experience of testing of materials, preparation of mix designs and analysis of pavement designs and materials based on AASHTO Standards
