The initial responsibility associated with this position will be founded specifically on a large-scale international hospitality project with a construction budget in excess of $1 billion dollars, providing MEP cost advice throughout the design and build phase and will require close interaction with the Design Architect and associated design consultants. The position will be site-based in the Bahamas with the following responsibilities:

· Perform detailed measurement and pricing of engineering systems
· Monitor designs
· Evaluate and reconcile bids
· Perform contract negotiations and execution
· Perform claims mitigation and resolution
· Analyze/negotiate change orders and prepare final accounts

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in engineering, quantity surveying, construction management or architecture, with the following:

· Minimum 6 years industry experience in construction cost planning/estimating on large-scale commercial buildings ($10+ million construction cost)
· In-depth knowledge of complex MEP systems in buildings and their installation processes.
· Ability to think strategically, plan and problem solve, and take responsibility for the MEP components of the project
· Excellent client (owners/developers/architects/engineers) relation skills and the ability to create an impression of understanding and confidence
· Capacity to work in a team setting with minimal supervision or direction
· Ability to write complex business documents, such as reports, papers, detailed letters and emails
· Excellent organizational, communication and computer skills
· Degree in relevant engineering discipline or quantity surveying
