This company is a large size regional contractor with an annual turnover in the region of $20million and is looking for experienced and committed people to join its existing team to work on new and existing Highway construction projects.

Projects will include construction of new highways and rehabilitation of an existing highway in North Central, Nigeria. This will include concrete / asphalt pavement and all associated Highway RC structures. As Quarry Manager you will have had a proven track record of running quarries efficiently and effectively to meet production targets. You should have hands on approach with a strong “delivery” focus with your team and are committed to safety and excellence in the workplace.

You must have trade certificates and at least 15 years experience of all aspects of quarrying and crushing operations including hands.

You will be responsible for multiple granite crushing quarries. Responsibilities include ensuring production outputs, training of front line supervisors; hands on maintenance and repairs of crushing plant and associated construction equipment, specification of drilling and blasting operations,. Other responsibilities include coordination and short term planning, trouble-shooting and the day-to-day supervision and direct supervise of shop and field maintenance activities.

Additional duties will include parts ordering for future and current tasks and the training of employees in fault finding including the reading of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.

You will ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and to instil and nurture a safe working environment within the maintenance department.

To be considered, you must possess:
· Electrical degree or trade qualifications
· A minimum of 10 years post qualification experience
· A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience
· Well developed knowledge of the operations of Metso Nordberg, Parker, Loro Parasini, Symons, Sandvik, Kue Ken and Telsmith crushers plants, planned maintenance systems, familiarity with computer diagnostics in mobile equipment trouble shooting
· Extensive hands on experience in maintenance of these crushing plants and Atlas Copco drillig rigs
· Experience of the maintenance of a modern fleet of heavy earthwork equipment e.g. CAT wheel loaders, excavators and dump trucks associated with quarrying operations.
· Knowledge and experience of the maintenance of asphalt plants would be a distinct advantage

Candidates should have a construction background with preferably previous experience in hardship locations. A Base Salary is offered with a local allowance, medical, accommodation, transport, flights and performance bonus available.
